WNMU Regents Approve 4 Percent Budget for 1964 65
Western New Mexico University regents approve a 4.988 million dollar budget for 1964 65 to be reviewed by the Board of Educational Finance and sent to the Legislature. It includes 2.281 million for capital outlay, plans for a new classroom building a fine arts building a new dormitory funded by rentals and bond money from a 8 million issue. Enrollment this fall reaches 1 157 and a parcel of land adjacent to the campus is approved for purchase from Delbert and wife Harrer.

Bostrom Faces Trial On Escape Charge
Three New Mexico State Prison inmates who crawled under two fences to escape in August 1962 will face district court trial on escape charges November 9. Marvin Vaughn Roy Ledoux and John Edward Bostrom are named with Vaughn as ring leader and Willmer died after being shot by a guard. Vaughn and Ledoux were captured nearby while Bostrom surrendered near Moriarty.

Arturo Ancheta Dies At San Lorenzo Home
Arturo Ancheta longtime Mimbres resident and retired mail carrier died Tuesday at his San Lorenzo home. He is survived by his widow Alena G. Ancheta and sister Jose Torre z, both of San Lorenzo. Curtis Mortuary of Silver City will announce funeral arrangements tomorrow.

Suspected Hitchhike Slayer Captured South Of Socorro
Benjamin Jones 23 of Show Low Arizona was captured after a four day manhunt south of Socorro. Police tracked him from Duncan to the Fort Craig area aided by three airplanes and bloodhounds. Carver, a Duncan truck driver, was found shot to death near Socorro. Jones is wanted for questioning in that case.
