Post Office to Build New Silsbee Facility
Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield announced a new Silsbee post office will be built and leased to the Post Office Department. Floyd Harris of Fort Worth won the bid for a 4198 square foot facility at 5th Street and Avenue G, to open in June 1959 with a 10 year lease and options to 20.

Carl Paramore of Silsbee was elected president of the Hardin County Wildlife Association at the annual meeting held Sunday at the club grounds near the Big Thicket preserve. R. L. Squirrel season will open in Hardin County on Wednesday October 15 and run through January 15 1959. The bag limit is 10 per day. Dove season began October 1 and ends November 19. Deer season starts November 16 and ends December 31 with a two buck bag limit for pronged antlers.

Denton Dell King, 18, of Silsbee, was sentenced to two years on probation after pleading guilty to breaking and entering a car owned by Mrs. Claude Payne of Jasper. Wallace H. Ferguson, 25, also of Silsbee, faced burglary charges for the Derrick's Club breakin on Port Arthur Highway with $254 stolen and bound over to the grand jury under a $2000 bond.
