A Department of Commerce study finds Hardin County families now own more cars washing machines television sets and other appliances than in 1960 amid higher incomes. About 36.4 percent own two or more cars versus 26.8 percent in 1960 and 91 percent have at least one TV set up from 79.3 percent. Ownership of washing machines lags per household but rises with income and rental dwellings.

Funeral Rites For Mrs Nora Colvin Held Monday
Funeral services for Mrs Nora Bridges Colvin 82 of Baytown were held at 10 a m Monday in Farmer Funeral chapel. Rev Eugene Jonte and Rev Lamar Clark officiated. Burial was in the Short Cemetery near Center. She died at 2 p m Saturday in Gulf States Hospital Baytown. A native of Silsbee she retired from Southwestern Bell and has lived in Baytown 12 years.
