Thief Takes Stereo From Auto
A stereo tape player and a tape valued at 100 dollars were stolen from Harry Allen’s 1970 Mustang in Silsbee. Allen reported the theft after parking outside Club 96 on Old Evadale Road and finding the car missing the gear around 11 p m Sunday night. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Deputy Richard Smith of Lumberton is investigating.

Silsbee police reported Emil E. Bean's 1965 Bridgestone scooter stolen Saturday night from his Cravens Drive home. The scooter was last seen at 9 p.m. Saturday. Bean notified police Sunday. Beaumont Police later recovered the cycle and planned its return on July 22.

He was reportedly up and around, with hospital sources saying he was sent home on Tuesday. J S Bledsoe Jr’s home on old Spurger highway was the shooting site. Bledsoe faces assault with intent to murder charges, later released on own recognizance as the grand jury meeting approaches.

Suspect Sought In July 15 Service Station Robbery

At the July 20 session the Hardin County Grand Jury returned 12 true bills and seven no-bills against 18 defendants. Indictments include four burglary with intent to commit theft charges against Ricky Smith Wilmer L Guynes Pete Roden and Dennie Miller. Also Herbert Lee Collins of Iilsbee was charged with murder in the Eddie Floyd Bailey slaying. No bills were issued for eleven cases including burglary assault child desertion and fondling.
