Seven City Wrecks Cause Estimated 3125 Damages
Seven wrecks were reported by Silsbee Police over the week with total damages estimated at 3125. On Sunday April 19 at 6 45 p m a Rambler driven by Willie James Martinez collided with a Buick driven by Roger Dale Baten at South Highway 196 and East Avenue N. Martinez left the scene but was stopped and cited for unsafe passing and failure to stop. Damages were 150 to each car. Earlier that day Mrs Jimmie Brittain Woods driving a Chrysler failed to yield to a Mercury driven by Timothy L Stephens with damages 200 to the Chrysler and 150 to the Mercury. Woods cited for failure to yield. On Saturday two injuries were reported when Annie Anderson Carson was in a Chevrolet struck by a camper driven by Louis Nolan Chesser. Chesser cited for improper turning. Damages were 1500 to the camper and 200 to the auto.

Lumberton voters will decide a $610000 bond proposal to build and equip a new junior high school on Saturday May 16. Judge Fisher Delays Redistricting Until After 70 Census

Four juveniles were declared delinquent children Monday by District Judge H A Coe for burglaries of Pinewood Grocery in Sour Lake. Some faced one burglary while others two. $6095.80 restitution was ordered to be paid by the four minors’ parents. One additional youth already faced charges and his parents paid $1000 restitution.
