Cape Girardeau business houses will sell polio game tickets Wednesday for the 1956 Polio Bowl in Charleston on November 8. About 1000 tickets will be sold locally at 1 dollar, with 1500 already sold and 2400 seats available in the Polio Bowl. One quarter of receipts go to Southeast Missouri Physical Therapy Center at St Francis Hospital, for polio treatment equipment. Remaining funds aid Mississippi county residents supported by the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis.

Capt OT Wallis of Troop BF announced this morning that Trooper M R Rousset from Owensville Mo has been assigned to the Sikeston detachment under Sgt Gene Warriss, bringing the unit to five troopers. Rousset, a University of Missouri training graduate, completed the course Oct 19 and reported to Troop FO in Poplar Bluff Oct 21. He will serve locally to learn procedures and plans to move his family to Sikeston next month.

Mrs H Arbauh of 312 East Center street learns of her sister Mollie Goddard’s death in Yuba City California Monday morning. Funeral planned in Yuba City Wednesday. Goddard formerly Mollie Greer daughter of Dock and Mrs Greer of Richwoods north Sikeston. Husband Bill Goddard also a former Sikeston resident. Survivors include five children Beulah Spain Lucille Greenmore Betty Cravens Murrell and Woods Goddard, sister Miss Arbaredo and brother Dock Greer.

One Fatality and Injuries From Weekend Highway Crashes
The State Highway Patrol reports one death and multiple injuries from weekend crashes in this area. Oliver Baker 26 of Fort Hood Texas rear ended a slower vehicle at 7 50 am Sunday near rain. He skidded and hit Herbert Haxes Campbell 23 of Portageville killing him instantly. Saturday night at the intersection of Highway 80 and Route A in Mississippi County two crashes occurred. Delbert Faire 24 of East Prairie sideswiped a southbound car driven by J W Dick 47 of East Prairie then struck a westbound car driven by Grady Williford 38 of Charleston injuring Williford Bobby Williford Dale Williford and Rebecca Williford. Faire was arrested for careless and reckless driving. At 12 10 am Sunday in the lane intersection Charles Wuilson 49 of Nast Prairie struck a vehicle driven east on Highway 80 by David Ras Poles 17 of Charleston with no injuries but warrants for reckless driving were issued. Rosendo Gatmda 88 of Lilbourn lost control on Route D7 and crashed. patient Jesus Sanebes 49 admitted for treatment today. Dan Garcia Walt was arrested for careless reckless driving after a Saturday incident seven miles east of Benton on Highway 12. Stamnes Allalore 37 of Cleveland was hit by a vehicle driven by Fivis Baker 33 of Reo Benton. Baker was charged with careless and reckless driving while intoxicated.

Tae Robert McVexy a 70 year old retired farmer died Saturday afternoon at his home. Funeral services were held Monday at Welsh Chapel conducted by Rev ELD Owen pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment followed in Garden of Memories. He was a native of Eddyville Kentucky born February 9 1886. He lived in Missouri as a farmer near Sikeston and later on farms near Mount Vernon. Survivors include his wife Emily Jane Turner five children eight grandchildren two sisters and one brother with several relatives living in Kentucky and Texas.

Sikeston Man Dies in Sleep While Visiting Kin
Durward Ray Raines a 34 year old Sikeston resident died in his sleep around midnight Friday near Wickliffe Kentucky where he was visiting his daughter Mrs Johnny Estes. An examining physician said death was natural. Raines was born May 28 1902 and had lived near Sikeston most of his life. He had farmed most of his adult years and had lived with his sister Mrs Charles Yazel of 219 Edmondson Street for the past three years. He is survived by seven children Mrs Estes Mrs Sterling Lynch Mrs Edmund Weise Jimmy Lee Raines Billy Ray Raines Terry Lee and Mike Raines along with three sisters Mrs Hazel Mrs Bill Austin and Mrs Vernice Chappell two brothers Cordie Raines and Pete Raines and four grandchildren.
