Drs H L Smith T L Chides ter and C W Limbaugh of Sikeston attended the Southeast Missouri District Dental Society fall meeting in Cape Girardeau on October 14. Dr E P Brady of St Louis discussed fluoride use for decay prevention and Dr John W Olson of St Louis University shared new denture construction techniques. More than seventy five dentists from the region attended.

Otto Schoen Again to Head Polio Drive
Otto Schoen of Fornfelt is named Scott County chair for the 1949 March of Dimes Campaign to be held in January. Lawrence E Mallinckrodt announces. half of funds stay in Scott County for care, the other half goes to National Headquarters for research and aid. In 1948 Scott County raised $4,226.28 under Schoen. Missouri faces a crucial year for the campaign to meet polio needs and future emergencies.

The semi centennial meeting marked fifty years since the society’s start by the Missouri Press Association with guests including Clint Denman and Mrs. Denman and former Attorney General Jesse W. Barrett.
