Night school to start next Monday in Sikeston
Sikeston's first night school will officially open Monday night October 24 with about 15 pupils beginning typing shorthand and bookkeeping under Miss Pema Parker, high school commercial instructor. Classes will be held at the high school on Monday Tuesday and Thursday nights for a ten week course.

Seventy Miles Of Rural Electric Line Done In 70 Miles Of Rural Electric Line Done

Believe It Or Not The Mad Stone Worked
A man bitten by a stray dog near the Sikeston Cotton Oil Mill refused medical aid and was treated with a so called mad stone. After an ambulance transfer to Dexter the stone was dipped in hot water and hot milk then applied repeatedly until it stuck and the arm was declared healed. The patient Drew returned to Sikeston and was reported improved.

Oran Man Breaks Ankle in 20 Foot Fall
John Halter of Oran sustained a broken ankle Monday while working at a stone quarry at Bleda near Oran. He fell twenty feet but only the small bone in his right ankle was broken. He was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital where his condition was listed as satisfactory.

The all day contact camp will feature Col C H Mutler and Col Win Teachout of St Louis as instructors. Burglars hit the McGee Hetlage mercantile store in Kewanee Tuesday night stealing merchandise and cash from the register. a small sum was taken from the post office inside the store. A watchman was absent that night, and the thieves are believed to be temporary cotton picking season workers.
