The 1938 LaSalle owned by Charles L. Blanton Jr. was stolen from a post office parking area early Tuesday and found abandoned on a highway near Clarksdale by five o’clock Wednesday. Contents were scattered but believed intact. damage not reported. State patrol and police had searched the area north of Sikeston after multiple sightings north of Farmington.

Troops 41 42 and 43 of Sikeston joined 8135 scouts from 19 Missouri towns at the Southeast Missouri Area Council fall round-up in Cape Girardeau. Scouts registered at Court House Park, then paraded to Houck Field Stadium for the Hendrix Cape College game.
