Dr. Charles B. Holman of St Louis will speak at the inter club meeting at the Marshall Hotel Friday night, celebrating the Sikeston Kiwanis Club's third birthday with representatives from Dexter, Poplar Bluff, Charleston, Bloomfield, and Jonesboro Ark. George W. Kirk chairs the inter club relations committee. Wives and friends will attend, and each club will provide one entertainment number. Mrs Hans Baasch spoke at last Friday's meeting recounting her Oslo Norway visit and views on Germany and Russia. She noted Norway's main work in fishing, agriculture, and lumber, its mild climate, and that postwar private schools declined. The Norwegian education is largely state-driven in a limited monarchy.

Sale of Christmas Seals To Begin In Missouri
The annual Tuberculosis Christmas Seal sale will launch tomorrow in Scott County and statewide, distributing thousands of seals to fund a year round campaign. The Missouri Tuberculosis Association notes tuberculosis has fallen two thirds in 25 years, yet still claims about 700,000 lives annually in the United States, mainly among ages 15 to 1. The goal for Missouri is 125,000 seals, with proceeds supporting public health nursing, sanatoria, and education.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Dora Waters in Morehouse
Funeral services were held at the Morehouse Methodist church for Mrs. Dora Evelyn Waters 29 wife of Lee Waters of Morehouse. Rev. Barkley officiated. Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Waters died November 21 at Brandon Hospital Poplar Bluff after a three week illness of typhoid fever. She leaves her husband a son Eldridge Lee age 6 and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Eldridge Dewey of Troy Missouri.

High School Students In Accident Saturday
Three Sikeston high school pupils escaped serious injury Saturday night when the auto in which they rode was struck at the Gladys and Scott streets intersection. Shad Old, Miss Bullie Dorrough, and Jean Klein were returning from the Football Festival. Taft Dickerson, driving the Plymouth, failed to stop at the stop sign. Old's DeSoto coach turned on its side. Dickerson suffered a forehead cut, while the students were only lightly bruised.

Funeral services held for Linn Boyd Herron
Funeral services for Linn Boyd Herron, 71, were conducted at his Fletcher Street residence on Tuesday afternoon November 22, with Rev Bow Milner of the Baptist church presiding. Burial followed in Memorial Park. Mr Herron, who lived in Sikeston over 20 years, died at home on Sunday November 20 after a paralytic stroke. He was born January 5, 1865. Survived by wife L B Herron and seven children: Clyde Herron and Orline Jines of Sikeston, Lucian Herron and Ethel Julian of Pontiac Michigan, Pessy McNeil of St. Louis, Geneva Ozee of Detroit Michigan, Ora Lindsey of Orvada Colorado, stepson Irbeys Young, and siblings Will Herron and Mary Anna Graham of Dawson Springs Kentucky.

Auto Crash West of Sikeston Injures No One
A Thursday night crash west of Sikeston on Highway 60 left Laverne Cameron of Morehouse colliding with an ancient truck lent by R C Cheers of near Essex. Rain and fog impaired vision and the front of both vehicles was damaged. State Trooper Vincent Boisaubin attributed the accident to Cameron failing to see the truck. The Treasury reported the nation’s legal liquor stocks at 471 million gallons, the highest on record, noting the large volume makes accidents unsurprising.
