Mrs L M Hollenbeck club president will speak on twenty years of effort and Miss Margaret Blair Law will become librarian. A dedication service and building inspection will follow.

Ten Sikeston residents will compete for Sikeston postmaster at Sikeston High School auditorium on Saturday morning November 19. Civil Service exams under Chris L. Francis will take about two hours. Forty applicants sought the job, ten will test, and names will not be disclosed. Pleas M. Mrs. Florence Rodes Dies After Lifelong Service in Sikeston
Mrs. Florence Wilson Rodes died Wednesday after six weeks illness and years of farming and civic work. Born in Sikeston in 1871, she married Dr. Landon O. Rodes and had one daughter, Mary Roth. She helped found the Sikeston Woman's Club, aided Railroad Park beautification, served the Methodist church and library board, and was survived by a brother, sister, a granddaughter, a grandson, and several nephews. Funeral at 10 a.m. Friday at the residence with Rev. John L. Taylor officiating. interment Sikeston city cemetery.

Sikeston Auction Company moved to its new west Sikeston building and conducted three sales last week selling nearly 2000 head of livestock. More than 1200 hogs were sold with cattle about half that figure. horses and mules also sold. Hog and cattle sales occur Tuesdays and Saturdays while horses and mules are auctioned Thursdays.
