Dan McCoy III Killed in Crash on Highway 61
Dan McCoy III 21 of New Madrid died early Tuesday when a southbound transport truck jackknifed on Highway 61 near New Madrid, driving his car into a ditch and toppled onto it. He was born August 31, 1935, and was a New Madrid High School graduate who studied at Mississippi State College and worked at McCoy Seed Co. Funeral services were set for 9 am Thursday at the Tri Neocate Conception Catholic Church with burial in New Madrid Cemetery. His parents are the late Dan McCoy Jr. and Mrs. Jane Bock McCoy. The driver of the truck was E. S. Lewis Jr. of Memphis.
