Nearly 300 Sikeston residents attended the Sikeston Development Clinic by 10:00 Tuesday as John R. Thompson of the Missouri State Chamber of Commerce joined Fred Steward and C. L. Blanton Jr. to oversee a week of meetings. Sessions, open to the public, cover general business, PTA and agricultural topics at the library and high school, with a final tabulation by the Missouri State Chamber to guide Sikeston’s 1952-53 program.

The Sikeston High School Concert Band will give an 8:30 PM short concert in the school auditorium as part of National Boy and Girl Week and National Music Week. County Official Among 11 Charged With Gambling
Charles Baker an assistant prosecuting attorney from Dunklin County was among 11 men who waived preliminary hearing and were bound over to the September term of circuit court. Each was released on $500 bond. Sheriff Hartzell Kimes and Deputy Gene Pikey led a raid at a tavern operated by F L Werner near Malden where the men were allegedly gambling in a breezeway between the tavern and a liquor store. Baker proclaimed innocence and questioned the felony charges.
