Mingo Swamp to Reopen as Migratory Bird Refuge
Restoration of Mingo Swamp in Missouri as a national wildlife refuge is assured after backing by the Missouri Conservation Commission and other groups. The project, approved by the U S Migratory Bird Commission, will restore waterfowl habitat, support nesting and wintering birds, and boost fishing and trapping income for local counties.
