Youth Killed as Truck Overturns in Sikeston
A Welter Bake Shop delivery truck overturned on Farm to Market Route E near Morehouse, killing 23 year old Sikeston youth Cleophas Miller. Driver Henry Hazel survived, shaken but unhurt. Miller, married since 1937 to Effie Morris, lived on Cresap Street with his parents. Funeral was held March 23 with Nazarene pastor Rev. C. F. Transue officiating. Survived by wife, parents, and three sisters from Sikeston and nearby Vandyser and Campbell areas.

RERUN AWAY GIRLS CAUGHT BY TROOPER
Two sixteen year olds Arvella Alexander and Mary Grousky of Harrisburg left home last Thursday morning hitchhiked to Texas en route to Chicago. Trooper Melvin Dace stopped them Saturday night near Highways 60 and 61 east of Sikes ton. They were held until their parents arrived and took them home. They had expressed little desire to return home.
