History of Local Christian Church in Sikeston
By R E Bailey recounts Sikeston’s early religious growth from no local Christian church to the 1906 organization of the Christian Church, the building of a Tabernacle and basement church, and the pivotal role of women in fundraising. It honors Catherine Handy’s gift of land and notes the sequence of church additions, leadership, and community spirit up to 1915.
