Wheat Quota Approved In Missouri Referendum Victory
Scott county led in overwhelming support for the wheat price quota with 308 yes to 26 no. Across the district Cape Girardeau county voted 154 yes 110 no while other counties reported large majorities in favor of government control. Nationwide, 397,299 votes favored and 96,114 opposed the marketing control. The Agriculture Department gains authority to set sell or feed limits and levy a 48 cent penalty for noncompliance, with a guaranteed 85 percent parity loan for wheat farmers.

New Cadets At Air School Form Largest Cohort Yet
Coast to coast cadets join Missouri Institute of Aeronautics for a ten week course starting Saturday. Of 110 students, 90 have reported, the largest class in school history. only one Missourian, Eugene Henry Sanders of Florence, is in the cohort.
