Seventy-eight Sikeston high school seniors will receive diplomas at graduation Monday night in the high school auditorium with Dr. Wil W. Lamkin of Maryville State Teachers College delivering the commencement address. Baccalaureate services Sunday night feature Rev. J. W. Hoffert delivering the sermon, with a full program announced including choral and instrumental parts and a long list of senior graduates.

Wheat Quota Referendum Set For Saturday Voting
Wheat farmers in Scott and New Madrid counties will cast ballots Saturday on marketing quotas for the 1941 wheat crop. Poll sites include townships across Commerce Kelso Moreland Morley Sikeston Blodgett Oran Diehlstadt Parma Portageville Canalou and other locations. Two thirds of voters must support quotas for implementation with loans possible if approved. Polls run 6:30 am to 7:00 pm.

Matthews Resident Killed in Automobile Accident
Claude Cunningham a Matthews resident died after an automobile crash on Highway 66 while pushing a car to start it. He was 35, survived by wife Arvie and two children Elva and Cecil. Funeral services were held at Nazarene Church with burial in Matthews Cemetery. Born April 7, 1905 in Walnut Ridge Arkansas he had lived in Matthews several years and worked as a truck driver. His parents reside in Tulsa Oklahoma.

May Queen Parade Leads Sikeston to Poplar Bluff Jubilee
Miss Betty Jane Taylor the 1941 Sikeston May Queen will head a mammoth Ozarks Jubilee parade in Poplar Bluff Saturday afternoon. She will ride in the red white and blue front used in a Southeast Missouri Drummers Association parade last Friday, with attendants Colleen Rayburn and Wanda Snyder. The ninth annual show, sponsored by Poplar Bluff, is expected to be bigger and better than ever and runs today through Saturday.
