Advance School Man Missing after Duck Hunting Trip
Talmadge W. Burkeen, in charge of the veterans agriculture training program at Advance, is missing after a duck hunting trip with two companions near Murray Kentucky Lake. The boat, decoys, and a hat believed to belong to one of the missing men have been found. Joe Baker traveled to Murray and returned with no trace found. Burkeen's wife and daughter have joined the search.

Tractor School to Be Held in Sikeston 1969
A district 4-H tractor maintenance school will be held in Sikeston on January 10 and 11 to train leaders in farm machinery for 4-H projects. The event, in its fourth year in the district, is sponsored by Standard Oil with the University of Missouri and local dealers. Delegates’ expenses are paid. a banquet will close the event. Leaders from multiple counties will attend and learn tractor maintenance.

One Guilty One Not In Magistrate Court
In a light session of magistrate court yesterday morning Dallas Brazil Pitts of Sailbourn pleaded guilty to hindering and delaying traffic and being intoxicated. He was fined 10 dollars and costs and sentenced to 60 days in Scott county jail. Chester Mack of Benton was found not guilty due to lack of evidence and his very good character. Mack faced charges of violation of the game. Mr. and Mrs. George Kirk attended the Kiwanis Club dinner and meeting held at Mimo Monday evening. Otto Schoen, chairman of the Scott County Chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, announced committees for fundraising across the county beginning January 15. The county chapter spent 5,000 dollars and the National Foundation advanced 12,659 dollars for treatment in the past year. Campaign committees are listed for each community with the first name as chairman.

Iron Horse Engine Skids Into Seed Plant At Frisco
At about 11 30 this morning a Frisco switch engine slipped from the icy track and toppled toward the Dan McCoy Seed Company plant beside the line. Damage was limited to 30 feet of platform and the roof of the main building with no injuries reported. Employees described the impact as sounding like an earthquake.

The American Red Cross in Sikeston announces help for former prisoners of war and surviving families of deceased POWs to apply for War Claims funds.
