Mrs. Ernie Martini, 41, of Chaffee is hospitalized in critical condition after two highway crashes in a single day. She left Osceola Ark. after visiting sister Mrs. E O Massengill when her car collided with a Missouri Pacific bus. A passing motorist, en route to the hospital, was then in a second crash caused by slick roads. Her husband died in a railroad accident about a year ago.

Paving Planned for Three Blocks on North Kingshighway
City Attorney Robert A. Dempster announced WPA funded labor will pave three blocks of North Kingshighway from Center to Tanner, funded by property owners contributing 1.50 per foot. Swacker and Dempster gathered funds, with work to start when weather allows. The community mourns her untimely passing from tuberculosis.

The House of Representatives passed the Senate approved bill repealing compulsory cotton potato and tobacco control acts in a move urged by President Roosevelt.
