The second Flying Cadets class will graduate Saturday, with plans for a Christmas leave of four days and transfer to basic training at Randolph Field Texas. About 35 of 59 cadets are expected to graduate, with Eugene M. Seitz the sole Missouri graduate from Kansas City. Frederick T. Allen from Columbia Missouri is recovering after a crash last week.

An Army transport plane arrived here at noon Tuesday from Dayton Ohio with flying equipment and other supplies for the air school. It had flown via St Louis and returned directly. Earlier a Wright Field plane stopped here to refuel then headed to San Antonio Texas but was forced to land due to a strong headwind.

Farmers Day At Sikeston Attracts Four Hundred Farmers
About four hundred farmers from Sikeston and surrounding districts attended the fifth annual Farmers Day sponsored by the John Deere agency Sikeston Tractor and Implement Co. W E Hedden and local officials hosted the event which featured an all talking movie Melody Comes to Town and four shorts plus a large farm machinery exhibit and free noon lunch. Attendance prizes went to F A Butler Loren Vaughn and Roy Richards. The company also received three carloads of equipment the next day to meet district demand with John Deere and Southeast Missouri reps present.

Stabbing Victim Critical as Teenager Fights At Tavern
Robert Garner 16, son of J C Garner near Matthews, is in critical condition at Sikeston General Hospital after a Sunday morning stabbing at Hicks Place tavern eight miles north of Sikeston. Suspect William Lawder 18 surrendered to police with his father and is jailed in Benton on $5000 bond awaiting a January 2 preliminary hearing. Witnesses say the fight arose over a girl. the weapon, likely a pocket knife, was not found.
