Gray Ridge Child Injured In Accident
A four year old girl from Gray Ridge sustained a fractured skull and jaw with facial lacerations in a head on collision on Highway 60 four miles west of Morehouse. The driver Velma Lee Marchant is in grave condition. Others in both vehicles suffered cuts and rib fractures with medical treatment given locally. The girl was later moved to Southeast Missouri Hospital, Cape Girardeau.

No Injuries In Saturday Highway 60 Crash Near Bertrand
The Saturday wreck on Highway 60 near Bertrand involved C. R. Gomillion of Neosho Missouri and J A Robertson of Woodlawn Illinois. Both escaped injury as their new automobile overturned after failing the curve. Troopers Tandy and Boisaubin assisted passengers from the vehicle and the men continued to Texas to pursue oil interests. The same curve witnessed a fatal crash two years ago at Sikeston where Clem Council died.

Parma Child Dies After Poison Tablets Eat Incident

Oran Youth Succumbs in Cape Hospital
Leroy Halter 12 son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Halter of Oran died Tuesday afternoon at St Francis Hospital Cape Girardeau from diabetes. He also suffered from effects of a mastoid operation a year ago. Funeral services were held today at Guardian Angel church Oran and burial followed in Guardian Angel cemetery. Born Randles June 21 1926 he is survived by his parents three sisters four brothers and grandmother Mrs Mary Halter of Oran.

Henry Jones a 55-year-old black man was arrested by City Police and jailed on a deadly weapon charge after a .58 caliber pistol was found. A companion’s tale alleged murders in Mississippi and attempted killings across Arkansas. a police court hearing was set to probe the story while Jones faced circuit court for the weapon charge. Fingerprints were sent to Washington with no report yet.
