Planes Arrive For Air School at Sikeston
Four PT-17 Stearman trainers landed at the Missouri Institute of Aeronautics air port from Wichita, Kan. They join five other planes in the hangar as Sikeston readies for Sept. 16 flight training. Army officers piloted the delivery, with four more planes slated to arrive. The project, by Wimmer Contracting, completes construction of a large hangar, boiler room, and storage, with 40 workers reducing to 12 as work ends.

Basil Stephens a 16 year old farm youth near Canalea is being considered for Carnegie Foundation recognition after he twice rescued drowning individuals from the Floodway Ditch of the Little River Drainage District.
