Daylight Robbery Strikes Kevil Bank in Kentucky
Three well dressed men robbed the Bank of Kevil in Kevil Kentucky at 11 15 am seizing cash and fleeing in a nearby car. The two cashiers John Miller and Mrs Linda Hook were ordered into the vault. The robbers fired into the air as they fled at 2 pm leaving no trace. A prior June 30 robbery at the same bank yielded 11500. Kevil, a town of about 400 near Paducah, may have been targeted by the same trio.

Joslyn Named Judge in 28th Judicial Circuit
State Senator L. D. Joslyn of Charleston was appointed by Gov. Phil M Donnelly as judge of the 28th Judicial Circuit and sworn in by Supreme Court Judge Albert Clark in Jefferson City. He succeeds J. C. McDowell who left for the Springfield Court of Appeals. Joslyn will serve until January 1 when an election will decide the seat. He resigned from the State Senate after an unsuccessful bid in the 10th District primary. LaForge Child Killed When Run Over by Car
Alan Nelson Hester two and a half year old son of Mr and Mrs Johnny Nelson Hester of LaForge died last night from injuries after being struck by an automobile driven by Lewis Bryant a Negro of Canaloa as he attempted to cross the road near the Hester home about 7 p m. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Sikeston General Hospital about 8 p m. The child sustained a broken neck fractured jaw and a possible skull fracture. Body at Richards Funeral Home New Madrid funeral services set for tomorrow at 2 p m from the LaForge elementary school building. Bryant held by authorities for questioning.
