Sierra County election results open in Hillsboro

County Commissioners convened to canvass the November 1896 general election in Sierra County. Votes tallied for Congress delegate, Council member, Assembly, and county offices. Ferguson and Catron led for delegate, Chavez and Martin for Council, Reynolds and Castillo for Assembly, Bojorques and Apodaca for commissioners, with others elected to probate, sheriff, assessor, treasurer, coroner, schools, surveyor, and river commissioner. The board ordered certificates of election and designated precinct supervisors. special messenger Kahler appointed to deliver returns to Santa Fe.
