Separ gang robbery at telegraph station and hotel

Two masked men led by a man known as Black Jack robbed Separ telegraph station and hotel, took cash and whiskey, disarmed eight cowboys at the store, leaving one wounded with a scalp wound. The bandits gathered about 80 dollars and paraded the town before departing with horses. The evening train returned as the crowd gathered.

McKinley Election Conceded With 263 Electoral Votes

Associated Press confirms McKinley leads in the presidential race with 263 electorial votes. Sierra County returns show Bat Fergusson likely elected over Catron by about 1,500, with Democrats denoted in italics d and Republicans in italics t.

Purported killing of Mr. Galloway prompts missing details

No details were received by press time as Mr. Galloway and Sheritt Shannon chased the Separ robbers from Silver City. A telegram said the body would be shipped to Silver City and his family remains prostrate. Latest reports claim the sheriff’s posse camped at Skeleton Canon and Galloway, on picket duty, was hailed four times and shot as an outlaw. Wayland & Collard plan to ship twelve tons of gold ore westward, delayed by an extension of Garfield.
