Wheatbelt Public Power District reports record summer energy sales and demand for June through August. Total retail 29,447,425 KWH and demand 62,701 KW, up about 26 percent and 24 percent year over year, driven by hot dry weather and extensive air conditioning and irrigation use. Wholesale power bill for the quarter reached $225,970.33, with sales rising slightly in industry. The district says higher volume will lower retail cost per KWH long term.
