Fugitives recaptured after Kansas gun battle
Two of three Wyoming fugitives who escaped from Laramie County jail were nabbed near Hays Kansas after a gunfight with police. Authorities say Harlie Com 19 Cheyenne and Robert Reed 26 Tennessee robbed a service station in Ellis County and allegedly kidnapped a girl in Colby before release. A third suspect Keith Rocky of Houston remained at large.

The Sidney City Council on Monday endorsed a Pizza Hut on Illinois Ave with an on sale beer license, rezoned Schnell Farms 10 acres for a Holiday Inn in the West Sidney interchang area, and rezoned 16 acres sold to Eltra Corp to industrial use for a new manufacturing facility. An emergency plan to acquire water mains for Eltra was approved to beat bad weather. HR Hammerschmidt said construction could start in two weeks and open before year end.
