The Sidney Educator's Club met in the high school library with President Walter Cork presiding. Superintendent Weymouth announced a District VI convention to be held October 26 at Alliance and Scotts Bluff. Vacations include Thanksgiving November 22 23 Christmas from December 21 to 9 am January 3 Easter April 19 22 and a 180 day school year. Officers for 1945 46 were elected: Marie Nicholson president Thelma Rutherford vice president Ted Tillotson secretary and Raymond Maley treasurer.

Sidney American Legion Post No 17 votes to construct a legion home in Sidney with an estimated cost of 35000 to 40000. Two Licenses Issued For New Plumbers
At Friday's council session two plumbers licenses were approved for Carl Hutchison Jr and Carl Loch subject to a $1,000 bond. War time, begun after Pearl Harbor to save electricity for the war effort, will end with a one hour clocks backward shift at 2 a.m. on September 30. Congress voted last week to abolish war time following V J Day, ending the regulation nationwide.

Man from Knoxville Ties, Slashes Arm in Jail Attempt
A Knoxville man Howard Mills claimed army discharge due to a leg injury attempted suicide in the city jail on Tuesday. He allegedly hanged with a neck tie, then slashed an arm with glass, receiving emergency treatment including plasma. he is reported out of danger. Firemen Battle Recurrent Blaze in East Field

Earl Masse, a Sidney high school football legend from the early 1930s, stopped by the Telegraph office to renew acquaintances.
