Nephew of Uptegrove Is Seriously Injured
Harlan Kime, nephew of E. L. Uptegrove of this city, was critically injured at Lincoln during a football practice. He suffered internal injuries and, at last reports, was near death. Kime is well known in Sidney and has resided here during the summer months working for Mr. Uptegrove. He is popular with the younger set and his injury brought regret from many friends. Mr. Uptegrove and daughter Margaret will go to Lincoln if his condition worsens.

Leola Stratton of Proctor wins the county fair beef guessing contest at Star Market in Cheyenne county with the correct weight of 1795 pounds. Bruce Eastman of Sidney and H. H. Schulz Heads East to Fetch Forged Check Suspect
Sheriff W W Schulz left yesterday for Plattsburg Missouri to recover Algie James Swisher who forged four checks in March on his uncle Dennis Wynne of the South Sunol district. Swisher and his wife were traveling in a car when the forgeries occurred. the checks ranged from sixteen eighty to nineteen ten dollars. Schulz will transport two boys to the reformatory on the return trip.

Prairie Fire Destroys Cattle Land West of Alliance
A Sunday prairie blaze swept nine sections of range country about 15 miles west of Alliance, burning eight Scott Henderson ranch sections and one on Clarence Kilpatrick. Jacob Henderson, son of Scott Henderson, suffered facial, hand, and foot burns while attempting to rescue his sedan as the wall of flames moved through. The auto was partially burned and tires damaged. About 200 men battled the fire, subduing it by early evening. Bill Davee was involved in the effort.
