Hyannis Merriman Road Opening Set
Hyannis Nebraska marks the completion of a 32 mile paving project on State Highway 61 with a Sunday celebration at the Clifford Creek junction. Governor J J Exon and former Governor Val Peterson will speak as bands from Hyannis and Martin perform. A free barbecue for about 1000 will follow and highway signs will be burned to cap the event. The Nebraska Highway 61 Association leads plans with Thane Davis as master of ceremonies.
