Farmers to Bergland in Pueblo demand break even farm policy
Several thousand anxious farmers and ranchers rallied in Pueblo to press Agriculture Secretary Bergland for a break-even price policy. They warned of strikes if Congress fails to ensure profits, chanting slogans and blocking streets with tractors and pickups.
