Special meeting set for Western Technical Community College board

A special meeting of the Western Technical Community College Area board of governors is set at the WNTC campus next Wednesday. Gene Lienemann of Sidney says the board will review teacher contracts and a report from an ad hoc committee on the railroad maintenance program. contracts are expected to be approved. The 7 p.m. session will be in the administration building conference room.

Farmers to Bergland in Pueblo demand break even farm policy

Several thousand anxious farmers and ranchers rallied in Pueblo to press Agriculture Secretary Bergland for a break-even price policy. They warned of strikes if Congress fails to ensure profits, chanting slogans and blocking streets with tractors and pickups. The crowd spanned 24 states and included participants from Texas Nebraska Kansas Oklahoma and New Jersey. Bergland promised to review the situation with President Carter next week.
