Two Injured In Accident East Of Sidney On Highway 30
Two people were slightly injured in a two car crash 18 miles east of Sidney on Highway 30 Monday night. Richard E. Atkins of Sidney and Mrs. Dottie Van Dyke of Hot Springs South Dakota were treated at Memorial Hospital. Atkins in a 1972 Opel rear ended Walter B. Van Dykes 1964 Plymouth as he slowed for a turn. Sherriffs department said sun glare blinded Atkins. Van Dyke car sustained about 250 dollars in damage while Atkins car was totalled.

New Wheels Aid Sidney Man Mobility From School Build
Don Duffy, injured in a car crash, now uses a motorcycle sidecar modified for wheelchair operation. Built by Western Nebraska Technical Community College students, the device lets him wheel onto a ramp, lock the tailgate, and ride. It is the fifth cart of its kind, with parts from Maddox Sports Center and Egging Company and completion by WNTC welding and auto body teams.
