The 47th annual Dalton Fall Festival wrapped after two days of parades races and exhibits. Mintken Davison American Legion Color Guard led the parade alongside the Dalton High School Band, with float entries from Dalton Potter Lisco Bridgeport Sidney Gurley Lodgepole and Broadwater among others. Winners included Happiness Is Freedom as Sweepstakes, Dalton State Bank first in Commercial, and several divisions in Organizations Family Kiddies and more with notable anniversaries and community honors.

Chinese agricultural scientists visit Nebraska for wheat research tour
A group of 10 agricultural scientists from the People's Republic of China will tour the University of Nebraska Lincoln east campus, Mead field lab, and wheat quality lab on Sept 23 and 24. They arrive from Ames Iowa, fly Lincoln to Scottsbluff, then travel by bus to the High Plains Ag Lab near Sidney for tours of wheat plots as part of a U.S. land grant university visit coordinated by the committee on scholarly communication with China.

A new business, the Sidney Card and Party Shop, will open soon at 931 Illinois St in the former Photo Center building.
