Eugene M. Warren 69 retired farmer of Dalton died at home from a heart attack. Funeral set for 2 p.m. Friday at Dalton Trinity Lutheran Church with Dr. J B Rapley officiating. Burial in Dalton cemetery. Memorial Heart Fund. Survivors include wife Freda two daughters Doroth Schuler three sons Ralph Vernon Melvin nine grandchildren five great grandchildren two brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers listed.

Potter residents and neighbors launch the two day Potter Days celebration with a Friday kickoff featuring a Lodge Pole Valley Conference football game against Broadwater at 2 pm a free Legion Hall movie at 7 30 pm and a 10 30 am Saturday parade highlighting the Dalton Dix Potter Lodgepole and Gurley bands. Bill Carrell of Minatare was named District IV Commander at the Sidney convention. Don Thies of Potter was his predecessor, Don Brunzell of Sidney became District Vice Commander. Alliance was chosen as the 1960 conclave site after a single bid. The meeting recognized Dan Wise of Lodgepole for citizenship and Earl Price of Hemingford as Outstanding Legionnaire. The event included junior drill team winners from Alliance and a traveling trophy for a drill squad.

Dust Feeds On Small Moisture In Panhandle
The Panhandle drought continues as recent drizzle adds only minor relief. Three hundredths of an inch fell with a cold front and mostly cloudy skies, leaving moisture under an inch for two months and only sixty hundredths in August. Three Youths Hurt When Car Rolls Near Potter
A county road curve near Potter left three teenagers injured after a car left the shoulder and overturned onto its wheels. Involved were Audrey Kragel 17 of Dalton Iddie Behn 15 of Alh and Pen L Russell 18 of Mihance the driver. All were admitted to Sidney Memorial Hospital. The crash occurred at 6 26 pm about nine and a half miles northeast of Potter. The car was demolished and all three occupants were thrown from the vehicle. Lieutenant J Kotschwar of Bridgeport investigated.

Youths fall 30 feet while pigeon hunting in old rail structure
A 14 year old Sidney boy Larry Wolf is in serious condition at Sidney Memorial Hospital after falling 30 feet through an open coal chute while pigeon hunting with 15 year old Bernard Koehn. He suffered multiple arm injuries and possible internal damage.
