At the senatorial and representative conventions in this city on Tuesday E D Owens of Conad was nominated for state senator and John E Evans of North Platte for representative of the fifty fourth district. The Cheyenne county delegates pressed for McIntosh but the Owens and Evans tickets won unity. Evans, a veteran and longtime Republican, received unanimous support and the convention adjourned after naming district committeemen.

Budweiser. Stabbed During a Quarrel in Wheatland
Allan Laughlin was stabbed by C. W. Fletcher while alighting for supper during a Wheatland stop en route to Cheyenne. Laughlin, wounded in the head arm and chest, was taken to Cheyenne and then to Sidney after doctors stabilized bleeding. Fletcher was arrested on $750 bond with the assault deemed as the aggressor’s action. Laughlin recovers with no expected serious outcomes.
