The Third National Irrigation Congress at Denver September 3 10 1894 issues a program for national state collaboration. It urges repeal of desert land laws, land withdrawals, pasture leasing, and shared funding for irrigation works with states assuming administration after settlement. The aim is to reclaim arid lands, create small irrigated farms, and promote industrial independence under a united national policy.
The Cheyenne county Sunday School convention met in Sidney on the 1th and 12th with strong attendance and instructive talks on administration and teaching. Rev Miles urged practical action, while discussions covered qualifications, duties of pastors and teachers, and making Sunday schools successful. A separate incident reports a fatal shotgun shooting in Walters’ death, with Enderley charged then reportedly acquitted at preliminary exam.
In Sidney last Saturday a crowded grand exhibition failed to draw a large audience. The ring master struggled amid fatigue while the chimpanzee and others consoled him. The scheduled roman chariot race was postponed as Messala the charioteer was absent and later training was chosen. The show closed with a concert titled Dickinson and a familiar Calamity melody to be performed later.

The Cheyenne County Board of Commissioners met in Sidney on Sept 10 1894 with all members present.
