The Bridgeport Citizens' Band, formed less than a year ago, gave a concert on Thursday that would rival a metropolitan orchestra. Alleged Horse Stealing Report From Bridgeport
Sheriff Lee arrested Jay Capron and C. Willard two young men from Court House Rock precinct accused of stealing sixteen horses from W. C. Dugger of Redington. They were driving east and watered at F. M. Rose’s ranch in Dever county before abandoning the stock. A preliminary hearing is set for next Monday.

Peculiar Accident on Fast Mail Near Sidney
A peculiar and fortuitous incident occurred Saturday morning to engine No 116 pulling the fast mail west of Sidney. The front two pairs of drive wheels derailed before the Margate siding west switch, leaving the third pair and trailers on the rails for over a mile. The derailed wheels climbed the switch and later rejoined the rails at the east switch, with rail bolts and fish plates battered and the guard rail torn. A Knights Templar special stood on Margate siding as the wreckage unfolded.

Local man bound over after Bridgeport hearing on theft charge
L K Duncan of the sandhills country was arrested on Miller Robinsons complaint for allegedly stealing a steer belonging to Robinson. At a Monday hearing before Judge Wade in Bridgeport Duncan was bound over to district court with a $1000 bond, posted after arrival in Sidney and jail by Deputy Washburn. Other brief notes mention John Whisler relocating to a 320 acre Elwood Nebraska farm and seeking a Telegraph address change, while W P Everingim and wife of North Loup Nebraska visited the city returning from California, and Eugene Oberfelder, nephew of the Oberfelder brothers, passing through en route from New York to Butte Montana.
