A Sidney mill owned by Wallace Oosterhoudt was destroyed by fire Monday night causing an estimated 25000 loss with 10000 insured. Firefighters could not save the upper floors despite full water deployment. The blaze began for unknown reasons with a spontaneous combustion theory cited by the owner as the cause.

A Republican meeting at the Court House last Friday night formed the McKinley and Roosevelt club of Sidney Nebraska. J J McIntosh was named president and I L Hewitt secretary. A September 15 train schedule to Brush and Denver with mixed connections is announced.
