A J Jorgenson received Boss of the Year honors at the Junior Chamber of Commerce Sixth Annual Bosses Night Banquet in the Sidney Country Club. The event marked the Jaycee’s tenth anniversary with about 100 attendees. Ferris Preble won the Distinguished Service Award, Merle Bobo earned the Jaycees Keyma Award, and seven businesses received citations for supporting Jaycee projects including Ft. Sidney Days.

1958 Cars Shown At Maddox Motor Co Reopening
Maddox Motor Co returns to its original site with a 1958 Plymouth Chrysler and Imperial show. After a June fire the rebuilt showroom offers wider space and new offices while parts move to an adjacent building. Auto Pilot featured on the Imperial and new interiors on Plymouth and other 1958 models are on display in Sid ney and surrounding dealers by mid November.

Funeral Today for Harold Griswold 51
Funeral services were held at Gehrig and Son for Harold E Griswold who died Monday morning of a heart attack at his Denver home. A former Sidney resident, he moved to Denver 21 years ago and was a nephew of Mrs W W Schulz of Sidney. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Survivors include his mother Bertha and brothers Oral and Kenneth, all of Denver.

City Clerk warns of fiscal trouble over delinquent assessments
City Clerk Gordon Tobin told the Sidney City Council that delinquent payments in several sanitary sewer districts threaten finances. Rites Thursday For J. E. Hall 76 Sidon Sunol station owner
Final rites are set for John Earnest Hill 76 a Sunol service station owner and operator. The service will be Thursday at 1 30 p m at First Methodist Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. He died Monday in Cheyenne County Memorial Hospital after illness and an operation for a perforated intestines. He was born July 30 1881 in Edgar Nebraska and moved to Cheyenne County in 1918 farming near Sidney before buying the Sunol station and cabin court. He married Elsie Beynon on April 29 1908 at Lafayette Colorado. Surviving are his wife and one sister Eva Washburn of Clay Center Nebraska.
