The Weekly Round-Up notes several new residences started and a bustling Sidney, with many local happenings. People travel for business and pleasure, residents engage in remodeling, hunting continues, and local trades invest in land and canal projects.
On Monday evening October 24 the McLernon residence hosted a birthday celebration for the host and Mrs Giegerich of Ruslo B C daughter of a Sidney citizen. Guests played a fan prize game at the Bhneh table with Mrs Giegerich winning and Prof Danforth leading the gentleman players. The hostess and two daughters served dainty courses and coffee as guests exchanged greetings and well wishes. Booby prize winners asked not to be named.

Several cattle shipments from Sidney this week include John Anderson, Ben Chase, E Francis with two cars each. Wain, Hoffmeyer, and Chas Lager with one car each. Mrs Mary McKelvey came from Bayard to prove land near Chimney Rock. witnesses Will McKelvey and Henry Randall. Jubilee of Immaculate Conception celebrated at Catholic Church Sunday to Tuesday with Fathers Sullivan Carroll and Delvade. Nebraska Experiment Station in 1900 used poison to destroy prairie dogs. newer fumigation methods using cheap hydrocarbons introduced. towns have used these methods with varying success. notes on habitat and failure causes. John Johnson ordered a 900 foot cable for a well drill. plan to drill for Fred Kurth on the divide southeast of Old Colton. Kurth has an 850 foot clay-bound well. aim to drill beyond 100 feet if needed. many expect flowing wells through the clay layer.
Miss Theresa Vacik and Mr. Michael McNiff were wed Tuesday morning at a Catholic church with Father T D Sullivan officiating. After the ceremony they dined at the bride’s parents’ Colton precinct home before departing to Rawlins Wyoming where the groom holds a railroad position and they will establish their home.

Eva Miles hosted a group for her 12th birthday. The High School program included recitations and readings by Lena Jessen Ida Hammer Anna Jessen Florence Fuller with titles such as Deeds of Valor at Santiago Rising of Vendee and Abraham Lincoln.
