Longtime Sidney Judge Julius Neubauer Dies at 58
Julius Neubauer died Monday October 31 1904 at his Sidney home at 10 05 am aged 67 He was born October 31 1846 in Prussia and came to America in 1856 He served as county judge mayor and school board member in Sidney and was likely high ranking Mason and G A R member His funeral was at the family residence conducted by Rev Grey with Masons and G A R veterans in attendance and city businesses closing for the services

Renovation at Pacific hotel by contractor firm and crew
A gang of carpenters and plasterers, led by Contractor Sweet, are renovating the Pacific hotel with new windows. Japanese laborers are being called home for military service while Union Pacific staff including Bert Chamberlain and General Manager Gruber tour the line. Foreman Baldwin's steel bridge crew arrived to work near the city, with a full outfitted outfit on the job.
