State May Receive AAA Checks Sooner
More than 250 Dixon county farmers are virtually assured of receiving their 1938 agricultural conservation checks by November 1, the Nebraska ACP committee announced in Lincoln after transmittal of the first applications for payment to the treasury disbursing office at Kansas City. This indicates payments will be three months ahead of last year's schedule. The first checks for the 1937 program reached Nebraska farmers last February, said Fred S. Denver Salesman Is Injured In Car Crash

Beet Shipments To Triple Last Year's Total
The Great Western Sugar Company station in Sidney will load about three times last year's beet shipments. The fortieth carload was filled yesterday as harvest in the Sidney district nears completion, with two thirds of the season finished. About three thousand tons are expected, with each car carrying roughly fifty tons. All beets go to Scottsbluff factory and sugar content runs 15-17 percent. Acre yields range 16-20 tons, seen as very good. Company aims to double Sidney area acreage next year and expand near Pine Bluffs and Kimball. A new automatic dump is speeding up loading.
