Morton a former livestock man now in feed business traveled to Sidney and the North Platte country to unload two or three trains of breed cattle mainly cows for winter feeding on Platte river hay and beef tops. Grain Exchange Loses Suit Over Inspections
Lincoln Oct. 25 District Judge Stewart sustained the demurrer of the state in a suit by the Omaha Grain Exchange to block enforcement of a law requiring reweighing and reloading of grain received at Omaha. The exchange can amend within 10 days or appeal to the supreme court. The law was enacted by the last Legislature and upheld as constitutional.

Three carloads of Thanksgiving turkeys will be sold by the North Platte Valley Marketing Association with sealed bids opened November 3. Cheyenne county turkey raisers, led by County Agent L. D. Willey, may form a branch unit, possibly shipping some birds from Sidney. About 6000 turkeys are needed to fill three cars, with delivery in the valley set for November 8 to 10.

The Presbyterian church Mens club met Tuesday evening with about 40 members attending. After a ladies prepared meal, Prof Weymouth spoke on the history and settlement of Africa. G P Kratz was unanimously elected commander of Sidney post No 17 of the American Legion at a Friday night meeting. A H Dilley was chosen vice commander, Ernest Blome second vice commander, J F Kratz adjutant, A D Greenlee finance officer, C A Long sergeant at arms, and John Sullivan executive committeeman for a three year term. Kratz has long served on the post executive committee and state Legion board, with past roles including finance officer and a candidate for state commander. He holds a reserve captain’s commission and is assigned to the Third U S Cavalry, prepared for duty in a national emergency. He champions youth programs, Boy Scouts, and local boys baseball, pledging a strong Legion year in Sidney.

Mrs Arthur Oberfelder Injured In Denver Auto Crash
Mrs Arthur Oberfelder daughter in law of Judge Joseph Oberfelder of Sidney was injured in an auto accident on Broadway near Ninth Avenue in Denver Tuesday. The Goalstone car collided with her vehicle and another car, sending Oberfelder's into the curb. She was treated at the Cosmopolitan hotel by her physician. Goalstone's occupant escaped injury. Oberfelder's husband was in Kansas City and returned to Denver Thursday. Judge Oberfelder awaited news from his son.
