Sidney United Fund Reaches One Third Milestone
The 1971 Sidney United Fund has reached one third of its goal after four weeks of campaigning. At a board meeting, $4,177.55 has been collected or pledged so far, with business gifts totaling $1,880 and advance gifts $1,516. The residential drive has raised $596.55 and is about half complete. Volunteers will contact firms still unpaid as the drive continues toward a $12,700 goal.

Two Accidents Reported By Sidney Police
The Sidney Police Department investigated two accidents on Thursday with no injuries. At 1:25 p.m. a truck driven by Robert Stieb pulled from the curb and struck an overhanging tree branch, causing minor damage at 1335 Osage. At 4:04 p.m. Edwin Casteel’s car parked near Sidney High School was struck by Scott Nienhuser’s car, with both drivers from Western Nebraska Voc-Tech and The Nienhuser car, respectively, suffering only minor damages.

The Ruebella clinic achieved strong cooperation from local workers as 1786 shots were given to children aged five to 11 and preschoolers.
