P C Kirkpatrick To Be Buried Saturday
Preston C. Kirkpatrick 75, longtime Cheyenne county resident, died after a two month illness. Born near Cincinnati Ohio July 2 1862 he lived through Civil War era moves to southern Iowa and later marriage to Nancy Swain in 1891. One son Arter Reed was born to the couple before the family moved from Thomas City to Gibbon in 1901.

First Unicameral Law Ruled Unconstitutional
Assistant Attorney General Bert Overcash said District Judge J. L. Tewell of Sidney voided a law passed by the last legislature enabling four North Platte residents to sue the state. The suit by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bailey sought damages after a highway accident on U.S. 138 south of North Platte. Bailey sought 1250, Mrs Bailey 1000, Cox 1475, and Mrs Cox 10000. The ruling followed Mrs Cox filing for damages.

Funeral services were held at Lodge Pole for Anna Josephine Larson 75 born Crisman Indiana. She settled Cheyenne county in 1885 with Lars Larson after marrying in Chicago 1883. They homesteaded near Lodge Pole and later Rush Creek Kinkaid area. 11 children survived including Carl Anna Nordell Clara Eineman Mable Richmond Edna Shoults Myrtle Statler and George Larson. William Edward and Ethel preceded her in death.
