Lodgepole Youth Fined After Chase
A Lodgepole youth named Larry Brand pleaded guilty in Cheyenne County Court to reckless driving and speeding. He was fined 25 dollars on each count by Judge C W Smith after a Friday night arrest on county roads north of Sundl following a chase by Nebraska State Patrolman Del Shipley. Shipley said Brand’s car traveled at 80 mph, the second time Shipley has arrested a Lodgepole youth for speeding in eastern county roads. The judge noted the total of 30 dollars and costs was modest given the potential danger.

Plans for the District VI Nebraska State Education Association teachers convention in Sidney are complete.
