The Commercial Club held its best attended weekly session at the Court House. Members urged the village trustees to submit a proposition to voters soon. The club also sought to instruct the Marshal to enforce litter on streets and filth in alleys. A typewriter was approved for club use and space searched for a club home. Treasurer’s report showed receipts and expenses with cash on hand noted.

Western Nebraska Teachers to Convene in Sidney Whole Weekend
The Western Nebraska Educational Association meets in Sidney on Friday and Saturday Oct 26 27 bringing top educators from North Platte Lexington Perkins County and state leaders. Delegates will attend sessions at the Tobin opera house with a Friday night declamatory contest featuring contestants from several towns and a Saturday night local contest to select a representative for the Sidney hosted event. The Cheyenne Tribune says Union Pacific divides Sidney Rawlins dispatching into five districts. T J Foley becomes chief dispatcher with headquarters in Cheyenne and oversees from Laramie to Rawlins. The main building measures 26 by 20 feet with a 51 foot cupola, plus a 20 foot north addition for office scales and engine room. A coal shed 100 feet long will also be constructed to support the operation, with completion expected in six weeks.
