Funeral services were held Wednesday at nine from Gehrig Funeral Home with interment in a Catholic cemetery. She is survived by her parents and one sister Teresa Kry.

Babcock who was injured in an automobile accident near Denver last week has been moved to Mercy Hospital Denver and will likely be hospitalized about ten days unless unforeseen complications delay recovery. Mr Shabbock had a slight setback Tuesday and is under an oxygen tent with five broken ribs and other injuries.

Barley Varieties Vie For Notice In Nebraska Trials
Barley varieties Velvon II from Utah and Mars from Minnesota showed promise in Nebraska trials chaired by agronomist Gilbert Webster of the University of Nebraska. The 1946 crop year tests include 13 winter wheat tests, five winter barley tests, and one general variety test, with locations across Box Butte Cheyenne Chase Hitchcock Harlan Franklin Adams Thayer Saline Johnson Hamilton Polk and Washington counties. The 100 farmers wheat tests were planted in most counties except Cheyenne Chase Thayer and Washington. Eight winter barley varieties and six rye varieties were also tested in Holt county west of O Neill. Results from the 1945 Outstate Small Grain Variety Tests are in Agronomy Circular 75, available through county extension offices.

BE H Van Buskurk, newly released from the Oklahoma State penitentiary, appeared before District Judge J L Tewell and received a two year term in the Nebraska prison on an eight year old bad check case. Sugar processing plants at Scottsbluff Gering and Bayard began Tuesday at 8 am to run round the clock for a 70 to 80 day beet campaign. Mitchell plant opened last week handling Wheatland Wyoming beets and its own district. Dumps have fed slowly due to late potato harvest, with about 45 000 acres in the Wheatland area and expected yield around 12 tons per acre, slightly above last year.
