14 Year Old Murder Is Believed Cleared
Sheridan county officials announced a 14 year old murder case in Antioch may be cleared by an arrest in California. County Attorney M O Johnson and Sheriff Frank Sweeney said Sheriff William Emig in San Jose has arrested an alleged communist agitator known as Jam Elliott, identified as James Jackson, accused killer of Florence Fagan. The killing dated back to April 3, 1920, when Antioch was a bustling town with potash plants and a population over 3,000. Bartlett confessed before dying of a gunshot wound, leading officers to the victim and Jackson’s alleged crime after a drunken dispute.
